Today I'm hosting another poem, this time by a writer I've not yet featured. This is a poem that was discussed some time ago on the Cosmoetica e-list, and some people felt that it could use some revisions and tweaking; I did not. I think it works fine as it is, particularly since it is one that I remembered even though months have passed since I last looked at it. It is concise and formally tight, and the word choices work well with the tone of the poem. More of Neil's poetry can be sampled in a couple of different places.
Another Attempt
Colors begin to abandon the sky,
Communing in glorious hues;
And if you look outside, you'll spy
A pair of little shoes.
Watch them swiftly journey west!
And guiding them, a daring child
Runs hard against the wind to best
The vast and lovely wild.
He failed to catch the aging sky;
And yet, there is no sorrow.
Our little chaser will not cry.
He'll try again tomorrow.

Excellent poem.
Thank you kindly for featuring me, Anthony. I remember this poem causing quite a fuss over the newsletter.
No problem, Neil, thanks for letting me post it. As for the list discussion, at least it resulted in some amusing parodies of those crits.
